Rather than write out a post for “7 Steps” I just uploaded a FREE, 11-page e-book. Please provide feedback if you look at it. I would appreciate it.

jeff December 8, 2009 at 00:08: You got it. You write well and what you say is true. I was in my late 40′s before I woke up, and I gotta tell you, it’s still very hard for me, but I’m getting there. Your view of life is healthy and I’m happy for you. Presently I live a hair-trigger existence of keeping one step ahead of the chopper. It’s exhilarating. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My wife and I started from a similar place a few years ago. We decided to pay down a shit load of debt (>US$75,000). Lucky for us, we both had good paying jobs. We were debt free (sans mortgage) with our emergency fund back in place for exactly three months before the ax came for me. Seven months later, my LLC is starting to pay and we finally have an offer on the house. When we close, we will both be debt free for the first time since we were 17. We can’t wait.

My grandmother always said, “If you can’t afford to pay cash, you can’t afford to pay for it”. Our mantra going forward.
